Journet to catch them all — Episode (2)
Hello and welcome back, Thanks for tuning back in.
Organization is key
Yesterday I highlighted that I am missing 220 Pokémon, however, to check if I had that Pokémon or not, I would have to depend on my visual memory which turns out degrades after a while 😁
Thankfully, Pokémon Home supports filtering out Registered Pokémon, this left me with a clear look at my goal, these silhouettes will soon be filled!
So, in a proper nerd fashion, I created a spreadsheet with all the missing IDs, then with some scripting .. we get this:
These silhouettes don’t stand a chance now.
PokemonGO, My hiking partner
Last year I was privileged to travel to Utah-Usa to attend a technical conference (maybe more on that later), However the conference was hosted in a resort that is an hour away from any civilization and with the conference ending at 5:30–6:00 PM there was no time to do anything after aside from having dinner.
However, in the last day we finished at 4:30, leaving me with approximately 2 hours of sun time.
Instead of looking on Google maps for the closest attractions, I decided to open PokemonGO.
I said to myself if there are PokéStops around me then there must be cool things to do!👏
That’s when I discovered the “Route” feature, it’s when other players propose a ‘route’ between two PokéStops.
Routes represent cool paths you can take like a guided mini tour if you are in a tourist area.
I picked a random route, which turned out to be a hiking one, which marked my first ever hiking experience.
I really enjoyed this experience and i repeated it back in my hometown, Not as frequent as i would have hoped but hey! It’s better than not doing it at all.
New additions
I am currently going through my first playthrough of Pokémon shield, this game is really pretty, I am currently exploring the wildarea which is an interesting area.
With the help of the spreadsheet, searching for the missing Pokémon was a piece of cake, Today we added 10 new pokemons.
Most notably are Steelix and Thievul
I think it is one of the nicest designs i have seen.
